Q: Can I wear a wetsuit?
A: You can wear a wetsuit, but you will not be
eligible for prizes.

What is the water temperature?
A: 76-78
degrees
Q: Can a younger year round swimmer participate?
A: Yes, they will need a letter from their Coach stating that they
swim 2.4 miles.
Q: Is there race day registration?
A: No, we encourage you to register early to avoid the late
fees.

Q: Can spectators see the race?
A: Yes, they can watch the swimmers launch from Hobcaw yacht club,
there is a new fishing bridge at the base of the Ravenel Bridge they
can watch the swimmer swim past, and they can view the participants
from the deck of the Yorktown Aircraft Carrier. You will need to
purchase a pass to view from the Yorktown. Passes can be purchased
from the active registration site.
Q: Where can I get one of those towels?
A: You can pre order the towels on-line when you register or you can
pick one up at packet pick up or on race day.
Q: Will there be a vehicle bringing stuff back from the start?
A: You will be given a draw string bag to put all your stuff in.
Everything has to fit in that bag and it will be loaded up at the
start and returned to the finish.
Q: What's the deal with the tide..with or against the current?
A: The Splash takes place with a slight out going tide so all
swimmers we get a little push.

Q: Where should we stay?
A: There are plenty of hotels in Mount Pleasant and lots of interesting place
to stay downtown. Click

Q: Where is race packet pickup?
A: The day before the Splash you can pick up at the
Mount
Pleasant location of RCC from 12 - 6:30 PM. Race day pickup will be at
Patriots Point.
Q: Can we pick up our packet at the start?
A: No, you must pick up your race packet at Patriots Point or at RCC
on Friday before the race.
